Adult Discipleship

There are many opportunities at Asbury for you to grow in your faith and serve others or as our mission statement says: “introduce people to Jesus and grow more like Him together.” Please follow the links below to find what opportunities best fit you!!

Abundant Life Groups (Asbury’s Small Group Ministry) are the grass roots of the church where transformation takes place. Doing life together—eating, drinking, playing, learning, and praying together allows us to grow in relationship with each other and Christ. A wide variety of groups are available and we will mentor and train new leaders to start new groups.

Withreach comes along side of people in our community to work together for the purposes of God. All learn, give and receive as every person is honored as an individual and a unique creation of God. Here you will find opportunities for hands on ministry with our neighbors.

Exploring Membership at Asbury - For those who are considering making Asbury their church home we offer an introductory group several times each year.  Covered in this informal gathering are topics such as The Four Great Emphases of Methodism, Asbury’s DNA, The Meaning of Church Membership, Our Strategy to Help You Grow, and Our History.  Those who decide to join will then participate in a 4 week NEXT STEP class to prepare for gift-based ministry.

NEXT STEP helps individuals discover their Personal Profile (how God has wired them) and where they can best serve in or outside the church. An introduction and assessment of Spiritual Gifts is included. Classes usually meet for 4 weeks and are scheduled to accommodate interested individuals.

“What a wonderful way to help new members find their way and “place” in the church. On a broader scale it is a great way to help find your way in daily living and how you are a Christian in a secular world. Great Course!! Offered wonderful insight into who I am in God’s eyes in His forming me.” Kathy Bateman

Army of One God (Asbury’s Men’s Ministry) provides opportunities for study and service through Abundant Life Groups, Children of the Carpenter work projects, various events for men and their families, and semi-annual Retreats.

Women’s Ministry exists to help women grow spiritually and relationally. We have several Women’s Abundant Life Groups, and plan special events, retreats, and fellowship opportunities throughout the year.

Bethel Bible Study is a 2 year comprehensive study of the Bible that thoroughly covers the history and application of both the old and new testaments.
