Following Jesus together is all about nurturing a Community of FRIENDS, pursuing the PURPOSE of Mission, and devoting ourselves to the LIFE of Worship. Whether it is a table fellowship, our men's clothing closet, or our two Sunday worship experiences, we strive to offer quality and create authentic connection with each other and with Jesus.

 

Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world! Let it not be said that we lack ambition! From our beginnings in 1781 as the first Methodist church west of the Susquehanna River, to constructing the present building on this site 100 years ago, Asbury's story is about pioneering. We helped start many new churches in York, and we continue to reinvent ourselves and pioneer new ways to connect with our neighbors.

In the recent changes in The United Methodist Church around gay marriage, we made a commitment to remain United Methodist and to be a Lighthouse for those United Methodists whose churches left the denomination, and for others who are seeking a non-judgmental faith community. We are committed to welcoming everyone as equals in the love of Jesus and to pioneering new expressions of United Methodism for our time.
